Should you be unable to get through, please leave a message with your details and a best time to call back. Either Bob or a member of the BIB team will do their best to assist and guide you in getting your crisis management off to a strong start.
On the night of the fire, flood, burglary, accident at work, cyber-attack…or any emergency outside of normal business hours – you’ll need HELP and GUIDANCE.
After phoning the emergency services, “What do I do now..?”
IF the incident is very serious – for example the fire brigade are at your premises and you can’t gain access – there is little to be done except dig out your Disaster Recovery Plan (if you have one), and start planning for tomorrow – making contact with those who must be informed and involved. You should then contact us as soon as you can.
For more routine incidents such as:
- water damage
- malicious damage
- glass breakage…
You are required to do whatever is necessary to minimise the loss and damage.
Emergency plumbing; glazing; boarding up and re-securing the defences of the property are tasks you may act upon immediately without reference to your insurers – however – they may wish to appoint Loss Adjusters to deal with your claim, so please advise us as soon as possible on the next working day.
Any criminal damage should be reported to the Police and a crime reference number obtained.
For more detailed instructions regarding Routine Incidents; Accidents at Work involving employees or the public, advice on Legal Expenses and Loss Assist covers are contained at the end of (Do’s and Don’t’s) of our website and report.
If you are fortunate enough not to need the emergency contact details then you can return to our Home Page to find out more about business insurance with The Business Insurance Bureau.
